Getting sent by DBE Youth Rodeo Development to go Texas was something I’d never forget!! Getting to rope with a world champion Jackie Crawford was absolutely amazing, I had such an amazing time and learnt so much more about the sport.

"Earlier this year, I was given the incredible opportunity to fly to Texas and train with professional Breakaway roper, Jackie Crawford. From the moment I landed, I knew this experience would push me to grow not only as an athlete, but also as a competitor. Working side-by-side with someone who competes at the highest level gave me an inside look at the precision, timing, and mental focus it takes to be successful in the arena. Every day brought new challenges and lessons, from refining my swing and improving my horsemanship to learning how to stay calm and confident under pressure.It wasn’t just about learning the skills it was about getting inspired. Being around a great group of people who are so passionate about roping made me even more motivated to chase my goals. I came home with better technique, more confidence, and a clear vision of where I want to go in this sport. It was an experience I’ll never forget, and it made me even more determined to keep practicing and keep dreaming big.I cannot thank DBE Youth Rodeo Development for allowing me to be apart of the incredible opportunity and experience. It was an experience I will never forget. Double Barrel Entertainment gave me a once in a lifetime opportunity to train with World Champion Breakaway Roper, Jackie Crawford. The amount of knowledge I gained during that week was astounding.
We covered every aspect of Breakaway Roping from groundwork to roping live cattle. Jackie shared invaluable insights, walking us through different skills and techniques that can elevate any roper's performance. She showed us multiple videos and live demonstrations, breaking down each movement and explaining the final outcome in detail.
We also learned various methods for training a Breakaway Horse, along with strategies to improve ourselves as ropers. The experience not only expanded my understanding of the sport but also deepened my passion for it.

I went over for the WCMB Mini Bull World Championships in 2023, the YBR World Championships 2024 and my most recent trip was a bull riding clinic with Gary Leffew. They have also helped me get to the ABCRA National finals in Tamworth.
I have won four West Australian Titles for ABCRA and two Runner up ABCRA National titles with their support. I have learnt so much from not only the schools but from DBE guiding me and supporting me to achieve my goals.I am grateful for the opportunities they have provided me.

Going to America to do a bullriding clinic and getting taught by the best of the best Gary Lee leffew was an experience I won’t forget.
Being able to learn more about the sport I enjoy and being able to bring that back home and soak in the knowledge is something i am incredibly lucky for. Thank you to double barrel entertainment for letting us experience America.
